John Wallin Liberto - Artist plus a few updates from me.

"You're here!"

Late, but here.  And in case you're wondering why the dolls on the right would be your answer.  Another order finished and will be on its way to a hopefully very happy customer.  So while I'm nomming on my treat (yeah it's just McDonalds double hamburgers, but it's still a treat damnit!) let's jump into the next artist I was newly introduced to here recently.

Now anyone who knows me really well knows that I am in fact a Halo girl.  Halo: Combat Evolved for PC was my first computer game and the fourth Science Fiction universe that I found had found that I really really liked.  Halo has expanded into this lovely complex series of games, books, cartoons and comics.

Halo 4 was how I was introduced to the work of John Wallin Liberto

.
*shiver*  Pass me the battle rifle!

John is a rising star it seems in the concept artist world, so be sure to check out his linked above.

And that is it for today.  I'll see you guys tomorrow and I'll warn you right, it's going to be gross and mushy and all personal like.

(Whether or not the following is an official trailer for Halo 5, I've been able to ascertain.  Either way, enjoy!)

Jan Urshel - New to me artist.

Rabbit hole.
And for those of you who know me, know these tend to be interesting.

Before I jump in, hello to those of you from Jason Colavito's site.  Hi Jason!  LOL.  In case you haven't noticed, I write about whatever I want and what I find interesting.  Either way, welcome and I hope you enjoy my articles.

Okay rabbit hole time.

So, here in the last couple days my nose has been in my crochet and my ears on youtube listening to music playlists etc.

"Why not just listen to the music you have on your laptop?"

Because I have a bad habit of losing track of time and forgetting to eat.  The transitions between video make me pay attention to the time.

So, this one user popped up.  Pandora Journey.

Most of the music is from video games (I'm not sure folks know how much computer animation has been advanced by video games, but it's an enjoyable rabbit hole, I can guarantee you that if you like learning about that kind of thing) however there are singers that were popping up in the pieces that I liked how they sounded and had never heard before.

Also were most if not all of the artwork that was associated with the different pieces.

Oh.

MY.

GODS!!!

For a long time I used to stay on top and up to date about space, science fiction and fantasy art.  Then I got sidetracked. (FUCK YOU PTSD!)

I started hunting down images.  The several bits I do here will here highlights of different artists that I just now became aware of.  Today is Jan Urshel.

He has an amazing variety of artwork.

Examples?

Observe.

Just.... :)

And to cap off this article, here's one of the pieces of music that has really stuck with me from that channel:

And then this happened...

So unless you were under a rock on Friday and Saturday (and no that's not me being snarky about whatever living arrangements you might have currently) we had a CME.

A "Coronal Mass Eruption".  Basically, the sun farted on us.  Only these farts are electromagnetic farts.  Our magnetic field here on Earth, tends to shield us for the most part from the really bad stuff.   However, the CME tends to concentrate at the North and South Pole.  Then travels down to the surface and goes along the planet from, at an incredibly reduced strength. (I think I'm interpreting that right, but I know I'll get corrected on where I'm wrong, so no worries.)

On Saturday night, this intrepid adventurer was attempting to play in Google Hangouts her character within the Traveller universe.

......yeah....

The interference was making my ability to be able to be heard by the other players almost null and void at times.  Both the normal phone data and the Wifi I get to borrow from my neighbors, were spazzing out.

I got curious and starting writing down the times. The following is Pacific Standard Time.
(Fuck you LA!)
(Date for this occurring for those of you reading this several months or whatever down the road was September 13th, 2014.)

  • 7:56:45 PST, PM
  • 7:57:15 PST, PM
  • 8:03:15 PST, PM
  • 8:16:35 PST, PM
  • 8:31:25 PST, PM
  • 8:35:25 PST, PM
  • 8:37:15 PST, PM
  • 8:56:45 PST, PM
  • 8:57:15 PST, PM
  • 9:03:15 PST, PM
  • 9:05:45 PST, PM
  • 9:14:10 PST, PM

Fascinating eh?

Those were the times when the "spikes" so to speak in the CME, actually fully impacted the various systems.

I pinged my friend the Cherry Bombe about it on Facebook, and she hooked me up with the following two links.

Now CME's are some interesting stuff.  If you haven't dug into them too much, allow to me to kick you head first into this rabbit hole.   Hehehehehehe

So that was my weekend in a nutshell.  How was yours?
